Shirley E. Powers, age 90, of Saint Peters, Missouri passed away on Monday, November 11, 2019 in St. Charles, Missouri. She was born in Saint Louis, Missouri on July 26, 1929 to William and Lillie Robison (nee Keim).
Shirley was happily married to Lawrence Powers for 65 years. She was lovingly devoted to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She loved the St Louis Cardinals especially Yadier Molina. She always caught the game whether it was on the radio or on TV. Shirley was an avid Bingo and card player. Her grandchildren loved to play Hearts and War with her as they were growing up. She was always known to write meaningful letters to her friends and loved ones, usually signed S.W.A.K. All the grandchildren knew they weren't going home without Grandma blowing them a kiss.
Shirley is survived by her children, Kathie (Gary) McCord, Karen Metcalf, Mary (Terry) Feezel, and Bob (Jennefer) Powers; Grandchildren, Jeffrey McCord, Kelly (James) LaVergne, Stephanie (Dominick) Perotti, Amanda Nesler, Michael Nesler, Jennifer Powers, Katie Powers, Allison (Michael) Forte, Patrick McDonough, Erin Powers, Caroline McDonough, Brendan McDonough, and Jack Powers; and 11 great-grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by many other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Powers; parents, William and Lillie Robison; and siblings, William (Eva) Robison, Russell (Peggy) Robison, Elmer Robison, Bernice Reynolds, Virginia (Charles) Burke, Marian (William) Woolsey, Jean (Gene) Baker and Doris Robison.
Visitation will be from 10:00 am until 11:00 am on Saturday, November 16, 2019 at Newcomer St Peters, 837 Mid Rivers Mall Drive, St. Peters, Missouri 63376 (636-875-1200). A funeral ceremony will follow at 11:00 am on Saturday, November 16, 2019 at Newcomer St Peters. Interment will be private.
