Stanley R. Pylipow

April 4, 1936 — January 13, 2024

Stanley R. Pylipow passed away on Saturday, January 13, 2024. He was surrounded by his family at the time of his passing. He was 87 years old and a resident of O'Fallon, MO.

Stan was truly a family man. He was a loving son to Stanley E. Pylipow and Helen Pylipow (née Haskins) as well as a stepson to Wilma Pylipow (née Dahlgren). He cherished his wife Phyllis B. Pylipow (née Moore) every day of their 67 years of marriage. He was a loving brother to Julie Houston (née Pylipow) and her husband Mark, and Peter Pylipow and his wife Gail. Stan was a caring and dedicated father to his five children: Dave Pylipow and his wife Mary, Jim Pylipow, Vicky Stricker, Ken Pylipow and his wife Becky, and Sandy Seaton. He consistently brought laughter and joy to his 14 grandchildren and was a very proud great grandfather to his 10+ great grandchildren.

Stan is survived by his wife, siblings, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren as well as many extended family members and close friends.

Born on April 4, 1936 in Coudersport, PA, Stan lived in multiple cities in the early years of his life, but he always considered upstate New York his childhood home. He graduated from Saint Bonaventure University in 1957. He then went to build a successful career in accounting and finance working for several companies including Chicopee Manufacturing Company (a subsidiary of Johnson & Johnson), Mobil Chemical Company, Monsanto Company, and Fisher Controls International, where he served as Chief Financial Officer. Additionally, Stan served as President of the Institute of Management Accountants from 1990-1991.

In addition to his career in finance, Stan was also a veteran of the United States Army Reserve.

Throughout his long life, Stan always remained steadfast in his faith. He belonged to several churches through the years, and often served in lay leadership roles. Stan said his priorities were: God, family, work, and fun - "in that order." He spent much of his time creating lasting memories with his family. In his later years, he especially loved spending time with his dog, Misty. When it came to having fun, Stan had a passion for golf. He was a past member of Bellerive Country Club and WingHaven Country Club. Additionally, Stan enjoyed watching professional football and baseball. He was a proud season ticket holder of the St. Louis Cardinals football team and later the St. Louis Rams. He also cheered for the St. Louis Cardinals baseball team for many seasons.

Stan will be dearly missed, but his love will forever be felt by many.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Evelyn's House (Creve Coeur, MO), Saint Bonaventure University (St. Bonaventure, NY), or Living Lord Lutheran Church (Lake Saint Louis, MO).
