Stephen H. Tibbits passed away Monday, August 1st, 2022 in O'Fallon, Missouri.
Steve was born November 9th, 1955 to Everette and Betty Tibbits in Cortez, Colorado. He is survived by his two sisters Joyce Greenlee and Pam French, his two children Jay Tibbits and Jessica Terrell, and his granddaughter Arianna Tibbits.
Steve grew up in Dolores, Colorado on his family apple farm and graduated from Dolores High in 1974. He joined the Army afterwards and served in the 2nd Armored Division stationed in Germany. After 3 and a half years of service, Steve was honorably discharged at the rank of Sergeant. He later married Tami and started a family in O'Fallon, Missouri. There he worked at Lambert Int. Airport for Southwest Airlines and retired after 28 years. After retirement, Steve spent time with his friends and army buddies traveling around the country for his favorite pastimes: hunting, fishing and bar hopping.
In the latter years of his life, Steve fought cancer and ultimately spent his last days surrounded by friends and family. He was a proud, stubborn and good person; traits of his that will be remembered fondly by those that knew him well.
Visitation and Memorial services will be held on 8/20/2022 from 12:00 to 2:00 at Newcomer Funeral Home in St. Peters, MO. A celebration of life will follow the service at Hobo's at the Legion in St. Peters from 2:30 to 6:30.
