Steven Germaine McKenzie, age 62, of Saint Peters, Missouri passed away on Thursday, June 4, 2020. He was born in St Louis, Missouri on March 21, 1958 to and Betty (nee Williams).
Steve was a great man. He was an incredible husband, father, and brother, but most of all he was a great friend. His loyalty and devotion towards his friends and loved ones were second to none. Steve was the best husband to Linda, being together for over 40 years, and enjoyed spending every waking second with her. You would never see one without the other. She was the light of his life. He would drop everything to help someone out and worked hard throughout his whole life to support his family. Those who know him, can attest, "hard worker" was an understatement for Steve Mckenzie.
Most people will also never forget his sense of humor. Steve was known to break the ice with a cheesy or inappropriate joke at anytime and always making those around him laugh. "Scuba Steve" loved being at the lake with the family, drinking tequila sunrises, and cooking for everyone. Outside of the lake, Steve's favorite place was Nashville, where his favorite things come together: Music, food, and a strong drink. Nothing beat grabbing a drink while enjoying some live music with family and friends. His other hobbies were watching Cardinals games and football, eating all the samples at Costco, and making his yard look pristine.
Steve may have left this world, but he looks down on us from heaven, and his impact on us will forever be in our hearts. He will be missed every day.
Steven is survived by his wife, Linda McKenzie, son, Steven Germaine McKenzie, Jr., daughter, Shannon Michelle McKenzie, a brother, William McKenzie, a sister, Joycelyn (Jim)Piwowarczyk and a host of other family members and friends. He was proceeded in death by his mother, Betty Schien and grandparents Clifford and Evelyn Haley.
A Private Memorial Service will be held at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 837 Mid Rivers Mall Drive, St. Peters, Missouri.
