Susan Lee Knickmeyer

June 25, 1939 — November 22, 2020

On Sunday November 22, 2020, Susan Lee Knickmeyer (Scholl), a loving mother of 4 sons, walked into the open arms of her heavenly father and was reunited with her husband Richard Knickmeyer at the age of 81.

Susan was born on June 25, 1939 in Dellwood Mo. to Elben and Louise Scholl. Susan had a sister Virginia Bernstein and a brother A.W. Benjamin Scholl. All of her family have preceded her in death. Growing up in the "50s" era, she truly lived the "Happy Days" lifestyle. From an early age, Susan displayed an unexplainable love for cats and this love would later drive her mission and work for neglected animals.

Susan was a woman who lived life passionately. One of her greatest joys was helping others in need. Her specialty was individuals who were dealt an unusual hand in life. An example of this devotion was the work she did for the Crisis Pregnancy Center and the Support Call Center for women who were terminally ill. Her desire to help others however, was not limited to people but she had a special place in her heart for cats and dogs and in most situations the more helpless or rejected the animal the more she labored for that animal.

Susan understood the true meaning of life of which she radiated daily. She had a solid faith in God; he was first and foremost in her life. It was the spirit of God that energized her alongside her love and dedication to him that carried her through the many trials she experienced. God was her anchor. Susan understood, a person should live life to the fullest through the eyes of Jesus Christ and to unquestionably forgive others.

Susan is survived by her four sons Tab (Eileen), Mike (Sandy), Mark (Angela), and Matthew (Kim). She is also survived by her 11 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren who brought an undeniable sparkle to her eyes whenever she was with them.
