Tammy Ray, age 53, of Lake Saint Louis, Missouri passed away on Monday, February 19, 2024 in Saint Louis, Missouri. She was born in Fort Polk, Louisiana on June 9, 1970 to Joey and Diane Brannon (nee Waid) and grew up in Deridder Louisiana with her brother Tim and sister Missy making mud pies for Mama Di. Tim pulling the head off of Tammy's dolls and Missy always trying to play with the bigger kids.
Graduating McNeese State University with a Bachelor of Arts in General Education, Tammy put her degree to work fulfilling her dream of becoming an educator. Moving to St Louis in 2000 Tammy worked at Riverview Garden School District where she earned teacher of the year at Meadows Elementary. After completing her Master of Arts in Educational Administration at Lindenwood University, Tammy earned the role of Librarian eventually moving to the "big library" at Westview Middle School.
Those who knew Tammy say "she didn't have a mean bone in her body", always smiling and approaching every situation with love. Her love for her children and fur babies had no bounds and nothing gave her greater pride. In 1996 Tammy married Jeff, spending 27 happy years as partners and best friends. A big kid herself, Tammy enjoyed travel, camping, beaches, Six Flags, and Disney. She also truly adored her books, reading every night before bed without fail. Her favorite genre was fantasy, with Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter topping her list of favorites, but books with vampires and other monsters adorned her nightstand regularly.
