Terry Gantney, a beloved husband, dad, grandpa, T-Pa, and friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on October 29, 2024, at the age of 74. Born on April 10, 1950, Terry lived a life filled with joy, humor, and cherished moments, leaving an enduring legacy of love for his family and friends.
Terry was a devoted husband to Kathleen Gantney, standing by her side through all of life's ups and downs. He is survived by their two sons, Kurt (Leslie) Bayless and Kevin (Monica) Bayless, who carry forward his spirit and values. Terry's love extended deeply to his five grandchildren, Chelsea (Stephen) Hill, Tyler Hoff, Josh (Sarah) Hoff, Victoria (Adam) Mitchell, and Taylor Bayless, as well as to his four great-grandchildren, Korben, Wesley, Emmitt, and Camilla. He was a source of comfort and joy for his family and a steadfast presence in their lives.
Known for his warm and inviting nature, Terry was the life of the party. He enjoyed hosting gatherings in his garage, where friends, family, and neighbors would come together to crack a beer and celebrate life. He enjoyed fishing and shared many delightful afternoons taking his grandkids and great-grandkids on golf cart rides, creating beautiful memories that will be cherished forever. As a loyal sports fan, Terry fervently supported the Kansas City Chiefs and the St. Louis Cardinals, often sharing his excitement for the games with those around him.
Terry took pride in taking meticulous care of his trucks and enjoyed ending every day with a Klondike bar or a Drumstick. He was also a proud member of the American Legion and the Knights of Columbus, reflecting his commitment to serving veterans and his community.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Molly Gantney; father, John Gantney; brother, Rick (Alma) Gantney; and sister, Ruthie (Junior Phillips) Gantney. As with all of his family, he loved them deeply, and they played a significant role in his life.
