Thomas J. Gallagher Jr.

September 25, 1941 — November 3, 2024

Lake St. Louis, Missouri

Thomas J. Gallagher Jr., a cherished soul, was born on September 25, 1941, in the vibrant city of St. Louis, Missouri. His journey came to a poignant conclusion on November 3, 2024, in Lake St. Louis, Missouri, leaving behind a tapestry of memories woven from love, hard work, and dedication.

In his early days, Thomas laid the foundation of his career as a Union bricklayer (Local One of Missouri), skillfully crafting structures that would stand the test of time. His passion for masonry inspired him to forge his own path, culminating in the establishment of Progress Masonry Inc., a testament to his entrepreneurial spirit and commitment to excellence. After a fulfilling career, he transitioned into the role of Safety Manager, navigating complex environments to ensure the well-being of others.

An ardent learner, Thomas pursued his education at the University of Missouri St. Louis, majoring in Business Administration. His thirst for knowledge complemented his industrious nature, shaping him into a man who understood the true value of hard work and perseverance.

Thomas was not just defined by his professional achievements; he was a vibrant force in the lives of those around him. He found joy in the serenity of nature, often exploring the beauty of wineries and dedicating time to exercise through invigorating walks in the park and spirited bike rides. A man who loved to lead a healthy lifestyle, he also embraced the simple pleasures of life—his heart warmed by the rich taste of coffee, the sweetness of chocolate cake, and the satisfying chill of an occasional Blizzard.

He was a devoted husband to Peggy Gallagher, a loving father to his children: Ellen (Larry) Riddle, Ryan (Buffy Thompson) Gallagher, Scott Gallagher, and Kristin Brown. Thomas wore the title of grandfather proudly, watching over his granddaughter, Alexa (Brandon Kuhlmann) Riddle, with joy. His bond with his sister, Terry (Mike) Yarbrough, brought warmth and laughter to their family gatherings, and he leaves behind many adoring nieces, nephews, and cousins who held him dear.

Thomas was preceded in death by his father, Thomas J. Gallagher Sr., his mother, Louise Gallagher, and his brother, Timothy Gallagher. Their absence deeply felt, yet their spirits live on through the countless stories and cherished moments shared with Thomas.

As we gather to honor his remarkable life, the visitation will take place on November 11, 2024, from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home in St. Peters, MO. The funeral service will follow on November 12, 2024, at 10:00 AM, with a graveside service to follow at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery at 11:00 AM.

Thomas J. Gallagher Jr. leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and laughter, forever etched in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him. His memory will continue to inspire us to embrace life, celebrate our relationships, and find joy in the simple moments.
