Thomas Hartman, age 81, of Midlothian, VA, and longtime resident of Chesterfield, MO, went to heaven on January 6, 2022. He was born in Grandview, MO on May 1, 1940.
Tom made friends everywhere he went. Whether it be his clients, the staff at his favorite restaurant, or someone examining the same soldering iron at the hardware store, Tom always made a new buddy. Tom was a true artist; from drawing intricate illustrations on his children's book covers to crafting his beautiful jewelry, he found the opportunity for creativity in everything he did (all while rocking a rather jaunty beret). He exemplified the ideals of Scouting and "being prepared" in all ways for over 50 years.
Above all, Tom was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. He doted on his children, cherishing each opportunity to go on a road trip to explore the world or plan a themed dinner. Tom lives in the memories of those whose lives he touched.
Tom is survived by his wife, Sharon Hartman; his children, Christina Vassey (Brett), Jonathan Hartman, Rachel Patrick (Kenneth) and Thomas Hartman (Sarah Boutwell), as well as his grandchildren Tatijana Hartman, Hayden Vassey, Allexis Demas and Esther Hartman. He will be dearly missed by many other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father Clarence E. Hartman, his mother, Velma Hinshaw, and his daughter, Jennifer Hartman.
Services to honor Tom will be held on Monday, January 17, at Incarnate Word Catholic Church, 13416 Olive Blvd, Chesterfield, MO 63017. Visitation at 10:00 am and Funeral Mass at 11:00 am with graveside service to follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
At his request, memorial contributions in Tom's name may be made to the Midwest Metalsmith Society,
