Thomas Richard Carver, 92, of Warrenton, passed away on March 24, 2016 at his home.
He was born on June 5, 1923, Argenta, Illinois, to John and Joa (Coakley) Carver.
On April 15, 1947 he married Dorothy May True who preceded him in death.
Also preceding him were his father, John Washington Carver, mother, Joa Cathy Carver; six sisters, Olive Clavier, Harriett Hitt, Louise Wendell, Elsie Klopenstein, Gertrude True and Delma Reed; and three brothers, Herschel Carver, Elwood Carver and Marvin Reed Carver.
Thomas is survived by: his seven sons, Herschel Carver of Springfield, IL, Richard Dale Carver of Springfield, IL, Ronald Carver and his wife, Barbara of Warrenton, MO, Timothy Carver of Canton, IL, Thomas V. Carver of O'Fallon, MO, Stanley Carver and wife, Betty, of Truesdale, MO, and Roger Allen Carver and his wife, Lesline, of Fenton, MO; seven grandchildren, Albert Carver, Joseph Carver and his wife, Crystal, Melvin Carver and his wife, Audra, Kimberly Carver Stacy and her husband, Eddie, Mary Carver and her husband, Jesse Draper, Joanna Wiley and her husband, Tom, and Paul Carver and his wife, Kim; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Thomas lived most of his life in Springfield, Illinois, and Peoria, Illinois. He moved to Warrenton, Missouri, 14 years ago. He worked in track maintenance for Chicago Northwestern Railroad for thirty years, retiring in 1987. He enjoyed doing anything outdoors including his garden and fishing and going to church. He was a member, Sunday School teacher and deacon of Alta Gardens Baptist Church, Alta, Illinois.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 29, 2016, from 9:00 am. to 10:00 am. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 837 Mid Rivers Mall, St. Peters, Missouri 63376 (636-875-1200). Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 29, 2016, 10:00 am at the funeral home. Interment will follow at 4:00 p.m. at Berea Christian Cemetery, Mount Auburn, Illinois.
