Thomas G. Schmitt

Thomas Gerald Schmitt, age 81, of Troy, Missouri passed away on Wednesday, December 27, 2023 in Lake Saint Louis, Missouri. He was born in St. Louis, Missouri on December 9, 1942 to Nicholas and Dorothy Schmitt (nee Behren). He lived the majority of his life in St. Louis before moving to Troy.
Thomas was a Dock Hand at Roadway for 30 years. He was married to Phyllis Schmitt for 48 years. Thomas was also a proud veteran of the U.S. Army. He served during the Vietnam War. He was also a proud Teamster/Union Member.

Thomas loved watching professional wrestling. He was also an avid fisherman. Most important to Thomas was spending time with his family.

Thomas is survived by his Two Nieces and Caregivers, Pam (Tim) Ebert and Denise (Brian) Schmitt; Sister, Dorothy (Bill) Alexander; Brother, Steve (Carol) Schmitt. Thomas was also a beloved Brother-in-Law, Uncle, Great Uncle, Great-Great Uncle; Godfather; Cousin; and friend to many.

He was preceded in death by his Wife, Phyllis Schmitt; Father, Nicholas C. Schmitt; Mother, Dorothy Schmitt; Four Brothers, Don Schmitt, Tony Schmitt, George Schmitt, Nick Schmitt; and Sister, Sharon Griffin.

Visitation will be Wednesday, January 3, 2024 from 3:00pm until 7:00pm at St. Peters Chapel, Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 837 Mid Rivers Mall Drive, St. Peters, Missouri 63376. A funeral ceremony will take place immediately following at 7:00pm.
