Timothy Harrison Kitrel was born, on Dec. 11, 1998, in St. Charles, Missouri. The precious son
of Matthew D. and Kathy L. (Ottinger) Kitrel, Timothy passed away suddenly on May 1, 2024.
He was the youngest of their three children and the beloved baby of the family. Though Tim’s life
was marked by the challenges presented by his multiple disabilities, he conveyed a presence of
light and love to all who knew him. He had a radiant smile and a laugh that made it impossible
not to laugh along with him. Though he never spoke a word, his dancing brown eyes spoke
volumes to those who looked into them and saw the beautiful soul inside.
Tim attended Hawthorn Elementary, Dubray Middle, and Fort Zumwalt East High School, where
he graduated in 2017. From ages 5 - 19, Tim was an eager participant in Variety, The Children’s
Charity’s Summer Adventure Camp. He lived for the three weeks of camp each year and made
many lifelong friends in those camps.
Tim, or Timmer, to those who loved him, is survived by his parents Matthew D. and Kathy L.
(Ottinger Kitrel), sister and brother-in-law, Allison and Daniel Easley of St. Peters, MO, and his
Brother Samuel Kitrel also of St. Peters. Paternal grandmothers, Janet L. (Venable) Kitrel of St.
Louis and Julia (White) Kitrel of Draper, Utah. His aunts: Pamela (Ottinger) Young, Linda (Greg)
Horn, Donna (Hugo) Canno-Bravo, and Uncle, Brian (Janice) Kitrel. Dannell Brit, a treasured
friend and long-time caregiver was Tim’s best friend. Tim has many cousins, friends, teachers,
and caregivers, in whose memories, Tim will live on forever. In addition to his human family, Tim
is mourned by our two dogs who loved Tim dearly. Anna and Luna will love him for the rest of
their lives and he will be waiting for them when they cross the Rainbow Bridge.
Tim was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Marvin G. and Billie J. (Thompson)
Ottinger, and paternal grandfather James Lee Kitrel; his Aunt Vickie Lynn Ottinger and his
cousin, Austin Young.
