Tomas Ó. Peña, age 86, of O'Fallon, Missouri passed away on Thursday, November 24, 2022 in St. Louis, MO. He was born in San Francisco Tenopalco, Mexico on March 7, 1936 to Prudencio and Rosa Peña (nee Ortiz). He was married to Celia Peña for 60 years.
When Tomas was young, he learned how to be a Barber from his father. After getting married, he opened his first barbershop in Mexico City in the bedroom of his first home. He decided to follow the American dream and moved to the United States. He worked in South Chicago at the US Steel Mill and purchased his first American home. He then opened his second barbershop in South Chicago where he worked until his retirement.
Tomas was a happy, easy-going, kind-hearted person. He loved listening to music, singing, dancing, and playing his guitar. He was a beloved man with the kindest-heart that left a spiritual legacy with everyone he met. Tomas was a very hard-worker, even after retirement and up to the last minute he was operating a craft shop out of his house. He went out like a champ... siempre se sentia fuerte como leon y se fue como un campeón.
Tomas is survived by his Wife, Ceila Peña; Son, Tomas (Magdalena) Peña Jr.; Two Daughters, Lucia (Javier) Ibarra, Luz (Eduardo) Gonzalez; Four Granddaughters, Lucero, Mimi, Susy, Karo; Six Grandsons, Javy, Tito, Bobby, Beny, Danny, Freddy; Three Great-Granddaughters, Marianita "Kiti Kiti", Genie, Kami; Great-Grandson, Teo; Niece, Nancy; and a host of other family members and friends.
