Vera Villa, born on September 14, 1947, in the picturesque town of Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany, passed away peacefully on November 20 2024, in Weldon Spring. Vera lived a life rich with stories and friendships, leaving behind a remarkable legacy of warmth and kindness.
A dedicated professional, Vera devoted her career to General Motors, where she worked from 1985 until her retirement. Her colleagues came to appreciate not only her work ethic but also her vibrant personality; Vera was a beacon of positivity, never meeting a stranger. She was known for her engaging tales that would draw in those around her, making everyone feel welcome and valued. To know Vera was to have a friend for life, as she had the unique ability to connect deeply with each person she met.
Vera found joy in many pursuits throughout her life. She was an active member of St. John's United Church of Christ, where she played bells. Above all, she loved to travel, often recounting her adventures across the globe, which made it nearly impossible to name a destination she had yet to experience. Her adventurous spirit mirrored her welcoming nature, drawing friends into her journeys and enriching lives with her shared experiences.
Vera's heart was an expansive one, fiercely loving her family. She is survived by her two daughters, Nancy (Mark) Anderson and Sandra (Joe) Segers, who carry forward the kindness she embodied. Her legacy continues through her five grandchildren: Noah Anderson, Jillian Anderson, Skylar Anderson, Isabel Segers, and Elise Segers. Vera instilled in them the values of love and friendship she cherished.
Vera's passing leaves a void felt by many, including her extensive circle of friends who became her family. She embraced everyone with open arms and a nurturing spirit, creating bonds that enriched her life and the lives of others.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Gaspar Villa-Villa, her son, Marco A. Villa, and her mother, Hildegard Maria Gärtner, each of whom she cherished dearly. Their memories are interwoven with hers, a testament to the love she carried throughout her life.
As we bid farewell to Vera Villa, may we remember her kindness, love, and the stories that will continue to be shared in her honor. Her life was a beautiful tapestry of connections, love, and adventure, and she will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
