Vern J. Swerczek

Vern J. Swerczek, age 79, of Ballwin, Missouri passed away on Monday, March 18, 2024. He was born in Cedar Rapids, Nebraska on September 21, 1944 to Emil and Esther Swerczek (nee Krings).

Vern is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Patricia Swerczek (nee Unterreiner); loving children, Kevin J. (Lisa) Swerczek, Kimberley A. (Joseph) Guccione, and Kelli P. (Terry) Klaesner; treasured grandchildren, Kyle J. (Amanda Ladd) Swerczek, Allison M. Swerczek, Ryan J. (Jorie) Guccione, Abigail N. (Nate) Williams, Kaitlyn L. (Hayden) Knickmeyer, and Austin J. Klaesner; cherished great-grandchildren, Sawyer J. Lathrop, Hadley A. Williams, Thomas J. Williams, Vinny J. Guccione, Ronnie D. Edelen, and Colten J. Knickmeyer; and dear brother, Ronald (Patricia) Swerczek. Also survived by loving nieces, nephews, other family members and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Emil Swerczek; mother, Esther Swerczek; and sister, Wilma (John) Rutten.

Vern proudly served his country with honor in the United States Army. He then went on to a lengthy career with the Ford Motor Company, retiring after 39 years. Vern loved spending time with his family, especially attending sporting events for his grandchildren. He also loved hunting, fishing, boating, and golfing. Vern was dearly loved, and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Services will be private. Vern will be laid to rest in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
