Veva Mckenzie

Veva "MAXINE" McKenzie, age 87, of Saint Peters, Missouri, formerly of Sullivan, MO passed away on Sunday, August 21, 2016. She was born in Olney, Illinois on July 16, 1929 to Ollie and Luella Poland (nee Clark). She had retired as an Instructor with Western Union Telegraph Company. She enjoyed playing bingo, sewing and was active in the Sullivan Senior Center. But her greatest love was playing cards of any kind and she took great pleasure in winning against her family. She would say "Mom Wins Again".

Survivors include her Son, John (Jeanne) Marks of Jennings, MO; Daughter, Betty (Wayne Johnson) Marks of Saint Peters, MO, and Son, Richard Marks of St. Louis, MO; a Brother, Henry Sanford (Jacque) Poland; sister in law, Grace Poland; Grandchildren, Robert Allen (Theresa)Wolfe, Donald James Wolfe, Kellie Lynne (Josh)Holl; Great-grandchildren, Tyler Wolfe, Bradley Wolfe, Mason Wolfe, Madison Holl, Cayden Wolfe, Mollie Holl, Macie Holl, Mylie Holl and many nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a Brother, Lloyd Poland and a Sister, Dorothy Reisinger and her late Husbands John Marks and Brighton McKenzie.

Visitation will be from 3:00 pm until 6:00 pm Saturday August 27, 2016 with a funeral service immediately following at 6:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 837 Mid Rivers Mall Drive, St. Peters, Missouri 63376 with Pastor Raymond Washington officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Boy Scouts of America or the Leukemia Society.
