Viola "Jane" Hickman-Hearon, age 84, passed away on Friday, September 20, 2019 in Eureka, Missouri. She was born in Scipio, Oklahoma on March 29, 1935 to Elmer and Martha Hickman (nee Weddle).
Jane is now with the Lord and no longer hampered by her illness of dementia. She is back to her intelligent self. Jane graduated from Comanche High School as salutatorian in 1953. She married Roy Hearon Jr. and moved to Odessa, TX where she worked at E.L. Farmer's. They divorced in 1968 and she moved back to Duncan, where she worked at Haliburton's Oil Company until 1975. In 1975, she moved to Moore, OK to work at Hillsdale Free Will Baptist College, where she was mom to many students. In 1981, she moved to St. Charles, MO where Cindy and her family lived. After a short stint of Kelly girl temporary service, she began working at Western Union, where she worked until she retired. She was a very talented seamstress, furniture upholster, furniture refinisher, and multiple other crafts. She enjoyed genealogy and took many trips searching for her heritage.
She loved all her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. However, this last year and a half she and Kelly's Hadley had a very special relationship. Jane looked forward to seeing Hadley every week. Hadley always brightened her day.
Special thanks to the nursing aides at Victorian Gardens. They loved Jane very much and because of that took very good care of her.
Jane is survived by her children, Cindy Whitelock, and Russell (Kim) Hearon; Grandchildren, Jason Hearon, Krystal Whitelock, Kelly (Jon) Smith, Kristi (Johnny) Landeros, and Ty Whitelock, many loving great-grandchildren, and siblings, David (Cathy) Hickman, and Mary Kay (James) Cook. She will be dearly missed by a host of other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer Wayne "E.W." Hickman and Martha Weddle-Hickman; son-in-law, Bill Whitelock; and brother, Bobby (Mary Evelyn) Hickman.
