Virginia J. Franklin, age 71, of Saint Charles, Missouri passed away on Sunday, January 21, 2018. She was born in St. Louis, Missouri on July 29, 1946 to Bernard and Frances Franklin (nee Galletto).
Virgie's first passion in life was her profession. She was a hairdresser for over 50 years and it was her true calling. She had a passion for making her clients look and feel beautiful. She owned her own salon for many years, and worked in other great places where she made lifelong friends.
Virgie made many wonderful friends on her journey through life. She had the most contagious smile and laugh in the world. Everyone who knew her could feel the true joy she had for life.
Virgie's second passion in life was her home and her pets. Those two things were equally important to her. She spent nearly 10 years in Hannibal living in her dream home, a 3000 square foot federalist style house built in 1881. She called it her mini mansion. She recently returned to St. Charles and spent her final months decorating her new home, watching her dogs run in the yard and enjoying time with her family and friends who were once again close by.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bernard and Frances Franklin.
Virgie is survived by her daughter, Valerie Christine (Todd Kirk) Reifeiss; grandchild, Kourtney E. Reifeiss; dear cousins, Joe, Jan, John, Jeanne, Cindy, Sharon, Larry; dearest friends, Rosie, Bo, Steve and a host of other family members and friends. She had a special love for each person in her life, and they for her.
