Walter Tennison, age 84, of Saint Peters, Missouri passed away on Thursday, May 6, 2021 in Saint Peters, Missouri. He was born in Oxly, Missouri on December 27, 1936 to Franklin and Malissa Tennison (nee Couch).
Walter worked at General Motors for 36 years until his retirement in 2000. He enjoyed deer and turkey hunting, playing pool and taking his grandchildren fishing. Walter loved to work on his cars in his spare time and always made sure the kids' cars were in working order. He deeply loved all his family and they will forever miss his contagious smile.
Walter is survived by his wife, Wanda Tennison; his children, Sharron (Sam) Mertz, Brian (Shane) Tennison and Shelly (Steve) Brackett; his grandchildren, Seth (Jessica) Mertz, Stephanie Mertz, Macie Oldfield and Payton Benoist; his great-grandson, Oliver Marcus; and his brother, Malcolm (Peggy) Tennison. He will be missed by many other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Franklin and Malissa Tennison; four brothers, Gene Tennison, Louis Tennison, Bud Tennison and Bill Tennison; and two sisters, Ilene Meyers and Betty Tibbs.
Visitation will be from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm with a service to follow at 6:00 pm both on Tuesday, May 11, 2021 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 837 Mid Rivers Mall Drive, St. Peters, Missouri 63376. Interment will be private.
