Wanda Mae Banze (née Heitgerd) of St. Charles, Missouri passed away peacefully at her home on April 11th 2025 at the age of 75.

She was the loving wife of Wayne Banze for 56 years, two months shy of 57 years, beloved daughter of the late Elroy and Lorraine (Blumberg) Heitgerd, devoted mother of Annette (Jeff) David and Angela Banze, loving grandmother to Andrew (Haleigh) David, and Ashleigh David, treasured great-grandmother of Brooklyn and Zoey David, sister of Myrna (Becky Felton) Heitgerd, Melba (the late Charlie) Wetmore, Leon Heitgerd, and Gayle (Troy) Greensage, sister-in-law to the late Ralph Banze, Joyce (Larry) Roth and Marion (the late Orville Banze and currently married to Kenny) Chrismer, and a loving aunt and great aunt to numerous nieces and nephews.

Wanda was born on June 21st, 1949 and was raised and resided in St. Charles, Missouri for all of her life. She was a lifelong member of Zion Lutheran Church, she was both Baptized and Confirmed at Zion and went to the Zion Lutheran Grade School. She then continued her education at Francis Howell High School graduating in 1967.

Wanda met her future husband to be, Wayne, at the St Charles County Fair in 1967. They were introduced by a mutual friend and started dating. Eleven months later they were married on June 15th, 1968.

After working for 50 years for various insurance companies, obtaining her insurance license during her employment, Wanda retired in 2020. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, watching Cardinal Ballgames, bowling, watching bowling, camping, reading, playing board games, attending craft shows, seasonally decorating her home, and she also loved square dancing.

Wanda was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Services will be held on Wednesday, April 16th, 2025 at Zion Lutheran Church in Harvester, Missouri. A visitation will begin at 9:00 AM, followed by a service at 11:00 AM. Interment will commence at Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery immediately following the conclusion of the service. The family would also like to invite you to join them for a Luncheon at the Church following the committal service to share stories and memories of Wanda’s beautiful and full life.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that you consider a donation to the Zion Lutheran Cemetery Fund or a charity of your choice.
