William McKinley Hill, III age 67, of Chesterfield, Missouri passed away on Thursday, February 2, 2023. He was born in Austell, Georgia on October 31, 1955 to William and Dottie Hill (nee Bishop).
Bill was born on his parents second wedding anniversary and his older brother's first birthday. Halloween became a family celebration going forward and continues to this day.
Bill was always somewhat mischievous as a child and developed a smile that could charm everyone, especially girls. As he grew he became a handsome, brave, tough, strong and sensitive young man. Bill from a very young age was always a champion of the underdog and remained fiercely so his whole life. Bill wrestled and played football in high school. He was an excellent athlete. He developed a love for Sports and was most passionate about the baseball Cardinals, loved the Blues and was a Kansas City Chief fan before it was fashionable. Even when the football Cardinals were here.
He liked to laugh, he loved animals especially dogs, and the real love of his life was a pit bull named Bernice that he rescued from a trash pile in the back of an abandoned pick up truck while working on Katrina projects. He raised her and grieved for her when she passed.
The other loves of Bill's life were his children, son William McKinley Hill IV "Will" and daughter Haley Hill-Austill whom he named after the comet. He was so proud of them both and loved them deeply.
Bill was a retired member of the St Louis Painters Union and a gifted craftsman.
Bill loved his family, sports, country music especially Waylon, Willie, and Hank Senior. He loved outdoors and cool cars.
Bill was a natural leader of men. He was a Boy Scout obtaining the rank of Life Scout just below Eagle. He was a Junior Assistant Scoutmaster, the highest leadership position for a Boy Scout, and he became an elected Union Leader. He served in leadership roles at the 212 club and was passionate about counseling others on alcoholism and addictions.
Bill was a Christian since a young age.
Bill will be greatly missed as a father, father in law, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend to many.
His charming smile and manor, his love of family, EXTRA measure of cool, and passion for life will carry on in our memories until we see him in Heaven.
