William Frederick Lau

William Frederick "Bill" Lau, age 78, of Chesterfield, Missouri passed away on Saturday, March 11, 2023. He was born in St. Louis, Missouri on August 20, 1944 to Irvin and Hulda Lau (nee Becker).

Bill is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Linda Lau (nee Freeman), daughter, Cheri Lin (Jim) Zobel; son, Brian Frederick (Jennifer) Lau; granddaughters, Emilena Zobel, Elena Zobel, Alexandra Licklider, and Caroline Licklider; grandson, Jacob Zobel; brother, Henry (Barbara) Lau; sister, Deborah Telthorst; cousin, Linda (Gary) Theodora; and a host of other family members, friends, and exchange students.

He was preceded in death by his father, Irvin E. Lau; mother, Hulda Telthorst; and sister, Peggy Parker.

Bill served his country with honor in the United States Army. He retired from IBEW Local #1, and was an avid fisherman and hunter. Bill was also a very talented woodworker, and vintage car enthusiast. He was a longtime member of Chesterfield Community Church, and would encourage you to read your Bible today as he did everyday.
